I am having trouble inserting my images into the slider. Every time I upload an image, whether it’s a new image or not, the images get cropped, or they are enormous. The slider gets huge as well. I’ve tried resizing the images down and it crops them. I’ve tried to resize the images to the sizes recommended in the documentation, but that doesn’t work either.
I created a dynamic template and I only want the one front page. We don’t want any child or sibling pages, so I’m trying to apply the dynamic template to the front page and that’s it. Is this correct?
I am VERY new to word press, so if I’m doing something wrong, please let me know. Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated!July 3, 2012 at 4:39 pm #81104
Let me make sure I follow you. :) You created a dynamic template in the Template Builder and added the “Slideshow” element plus whatever else to make your page. You then went to Pages > Your frontpage and selected the dynamic template from the Post Layout options. Correct?
Now with your slideshow options:
– Do you have the Slideshow Layout on Single Pages set to “Full width slider” under “Slideshow Options”?
– Under “Featured media”, do you have the “Image Size Options” set to Big image/video?
– When you insert the image are you selecting “Full size” from the thumbnail, medium, etc. options?

Yes, I did all of those things. I even tried changing the settings to small image, medium, etc. Nothing seemed to help. The image is a screenshot of our app that we are developing, in an iPhone. What happens is that it cuts off the top and bottom of the image, and makes the entire slider area about twice the width that it is in the theme demo.
What am I doing wrong?

A link to your website might help. We would like to inspect it.

The website is http://www.spenseapp.com. The images that are in the slideshow now are the original size that I put in to start out. They are 368 x 716 I believe.
Part of the problem is that the images are tall and thin, instead of short and wide. It is supposed to be a screenshot of the entire iPhone.
Any help you can give me would be great!
