We’re using WPML for translating our site from Swedish to English. There’s some strange things going on though.

When i make a new portfolio post in swedish, it works fine to have sliding background and mini content area. But when I translate it to english it just shows as a regular post with default background settings. All the settings on the edit page of the portfolio post is the same as on the swedish one (with mini content area etc selected), but it just wont show up as it’s supposed to.

The strange thig is that there is portfolio pages that works just fine. I do not know why all of a sudden it stopped to work.

Chack out this link. All the portfolio items here works fine except the one on the top left.

    Any clues?

    Hi lotsdesign!

Please try to update WordPress to v3.8.1 and update the WPML plugins if required. If this still doesn’t solve the issue please create me an ftp account because I need to debug the theme code. At the moment it looks like the avia_get_the_ID() function doesn’t return the right ID and thus the settings (background slider settings, layout settings, etc.) won’t work on this page. However I’m not sure why this happens only on this page and I need to debug the code.

    Best regards,

It works now. I just had to update the Flashlight theme to v2.5 (you used 1.8). I renamed the old theme files folder to flashlight_bak. I deactivate the “Social Sharing Toolkit” because it triggered some js errors on the page. You can try a different plugin like:

    Thanks Peter,
Really appriciate your help, this has been bugging be for a while.
I added the images again to the post and it works well!

On the other hand though the changes I have made to the theme in the CSS styling is reseted to default. Could I just replace the CSS files again or will that affect the updated theme?

You can try to replace the css files – and check if you notice any major issues. If yes I recommend to apply your changes to the updated files instead of just replacing them.
