I would like the Product Details page layout to be full-width much like is possible with Replete as mentioned in this thread: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/product-details-page-layout
Would making the change be similar in nature, and if so, what/where would the code locations be?

Unfortunately not. The layout for Replete is done in a way that allows for a bit more flexibility. The change in that topic is actually not really making the page full width but instead just adding the tabs after the product photo and product summary columns.

I'm sorry, I completely mis-spoke/typed that out wrong. I am not looking for the page to be full-width, rather, I would like the tabs after the product photo and product summary columns (to achieve a full-width look) instead of the half-page width look that it has now.
Is it possible to achieve the same affect?

The same still applies. The layout is such that there isn't an escape for the content below the product summary as its all in a single container. With Replete, its wrapped in a simple function so altering the function to include the tabs in the already created layout is a quick change.
