I’m starting to add product images now. In a few of the products I will need a longer image for the phone straps. As you can see from the second image on this product, it gets cut off. How can I get the whole image to show?

You’ll need to edit the image size that gets created for the single shop page in config-woocommerce>config.php. Look for:
$avia_config['imgSize']['shop_single'] = array('width'=>450, 'height'=>355);
I would only recommend changing the height number to keep the image width consistent with the layout. Afterwards regenerate your images or only newly updated images will get the new image size specifications.

I amended the height to 500px which is the same height as the second image but it hasn’t had an effect.

the page is still serving this image: http://cutecreations.co.uk/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Chickie_Phone-Strap_02-398×335.jpg
Which is at the original size so if you had not already, regenerate your images using: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
If that does not re-create the image properly you may need to delete the product completely then re-upload the product images while re-creating it.

Why would it be cropping the original to 335px high though? I looked in the media files and it says it’s 398px x 500px
I have regenerated the thumbnails.

Just figured out the problem. I have to change this code in the functions.php file:
$avia_config = array(‘width’=>450, ‘height’=>500); // images for portfolio entries (2,3,4 column)
