I’ve read the Woo Commerce Documentation on Product Variables and I can not get it to work for me as it is supposed to with the Abundance theme. The variables show up under the product tab ADDITIONAL INFORMATION and customer can not choose for shopping cart. Also the cart button does not show up when I choose variable. I have a soft cover and hard cover edition of my book with different prices and I need the customer to be able to choose which one with the appropriate price and add it to their cart. You can see what I mean here: http://fifthstream.com/shop/ (Purchase code hidden if logged out) – (Purchase code hidden if logged out) /
See how there is no cart button and no price and the two variables with their prices are in Additional Information but no way to choose and add to cart. Your help greatly appreciated!October 17, 2012 at 12:23 pm #94256
It looks like something isn’t quite set up correctly but I can’t say for sure which step of it isn’t correct just from the front end. It may be easier if I take a look at it from the back end quickly and see if I can spot the problem.
If you can create a temporary admin account for me I’ll log in and take a look to see if we can get this sorted out.
You can send the information to my email at DevinVinson (at) gmail.com. Make sure to include a link to this topic so that my spam filter doesn’t grab it :)

Thanks Devin! That would be awesome. I’m having a terrible time with variables and getting the price to show up right! Your support greatly appreciated!! Back with you in your email in a few!October 19, 2012 at 8:46 pm #94258
Devin, I’m wondering if you got my email with the log-in info? I looked at the Abundance demo and it has the same glitch. Is this something in the programming? Customer should be able to choose which variable before adding to cart. Many of my products are variables so do I need to hire a programmer to fix this or can you guys do it fairly quickly? I paid for a full page ad to sell my book that will be going out to 5800 people next week so need a quick fix!!! Your help and attention appreciated!October 19, 2012 at 11:31 pm #94259October 20, 2012 at 1:23 pm #94260
Just sent an email, the attributes for the variable products had not been set up yet under Products>Attributes. Once they are set up, you’ll be able to choose them to be attached to the individual products and it should work from there.

Thanks Devin! I finally got the variables with prices for both hard and soft cover options figured out. This link was helpful if anyone else is looking for solutions to the variables like I was: http://www.ostraining.com/blog/wordpress/woocommerce/October 22, 2012 at 7:37 am #94263
