My customer wants the Products slider to show “categories” instead of individual products. i.e. they sell textiles that have “ranges” then individual products grouped under that range’s category.
At present I have set the product category to have a preview image of one of the range’s swatches, that’s what they’d like in the Products Slider, which would then link to the category page rather than directly to the single product page.
Is this possible? I haven’t been able to locate the code to attempt it myself, sorry.
I’ve posted a short how-to here: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/how-to-add-product-sub-categories-to-the-%E2%80%9Cproducts%E2%80%9D-element-dynamic-templates-1
Officially the template builder does not support categories yet.
I also need categories instead of products on the main page. I did the changes as in the tutorial, and now I have the product-categories but also at least one product (you can choose 1 – 100 products in the template builder). What do I have to do to have no (0) products? I saw it in many other abundance-examples, but I don’t know how to do it.
Also: If I set “Shop Slider Row” on “yes”, the category-preview-pictures are not automatically resized. Is this a bug?
Thanks in advance for your help!
