    Does ‘Single Product Image’ define the size of the image above thumbnails or the image when in slideshow?
    Does ‘Hard Cropping’ crop images that are not in the defined pixel aspect (vs disproportionally shrinking them)?

    Basically, on each specific product page I want the image above thumbnails to be square (perhaps 400×400), then all slideshow images to be square at 600×600.

    I changed the PHP file as below (and WooCommerce settings to match), and regenerated thumbnails but the images appear the same size as before. In Woo I also removed the Hard Cropping on each image type but that also didn’t make any difference. Pls help.

    $avia_config['imgSize']['shop_thumbnail'] = array(‘width’=>80, ‘height’=>80);
    $avia_config['imgSize']['shop_catalog'] = array(‘width’=>280, ‘height’=>321);
    $avia_config['imgSize']['shop_single'] = array(‘width’=>400, ‘height’=>400);

    Store page: http://www.beastsyndicate.com/shop/
    Product page: http://www.beastsyndicate.com/shop/?product=test3

    Appreciate you looking into this. Thx.

    Hi ATX!

    The size of the image set with the fucntion does not change the size of the images container. Looking at the page right now however it seems your single product image size is set to 450×335. Make sure you’ve changed it in the WooCommerce options to the 400×400 size you want which should change the size used within the single product thumb after regenerating.

    Best regards,
    Devin

    Devin, I’m confused. My settings (Woo/Settings/Products) are as below:

    Catalog Images 280×321 px no Hard Crop
    Single Product Image 400×400 px no Hard Crop
    Product Thumbnails 80×80 px no Hard Crop

    Am I looking at the wrong place? Where did you see my single product image size is set to 450×335?

    Also, does ‘Single Product Image’ define the size of the image above thumbnails or the image when in slideshow?
    Does ‘Hard Cropping’ crop images that are not in the defined pixel aspect (vs disproportionally shrinking them)?

    Thx

    Can you provide admin credentials in a private reply? That way we can take a look directly and see whats going on.

    Hey!

    Please check the password – I tried to login but wordpress just returned an error. The page source code of http://www.beastsyndicate.com/shop/?product=test3 links to http://www.beastsyndicate.com/shop/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/p_booknyc_wk01-450×335.jpg and the file name ( -450×335) indicates that WooCommere loads a 450×335 thumbnail on the product page.

    If you want to check all register thumbnail sizes you can install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/ – maybe you can find the thumbnail definition which generates images with a size of 450×335.

    Cheers!
    Peter

    Peter, clicking on the main image on http://www.beastsyndicate.com/shop/?product=test3 goes to a 600px wide image in slideshow.

    Where are you seeing the link to http://www.beastsyndicate.com/shop/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/p_booknyc_wk01-450×335.jpg ?
    Where can I see the page source code?

    I’ll take a look at the plug-in you suggested (though I have been regenerating thumbnails already – should I have?)

    Appreciate your help

    #311085

    Hi, I installed the plug-in and regenerated images but it had no effect : (
    PLUG-IN: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes

    Where are you seeing the link to http://www.beastsyndicate.com/shop/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/p_booknyc_wk01-450×335.jpg ?
    Where can I see the page source code?

    Thx for your help with this

    #311146

    Hi!

    The http://www.beastsyndicate.com/shop/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/p_booknyc_wk01-450×335.jpg is the thumbnail size that is being used on the single product page view on top of the thumbnails. Please edit config-woocommerce > config.php, find this code starting from line 14:

    $avia_config['imgSize']['shop_thumbnail'] 	= array('width'=>80, 'height'=>80);
    $avia_config['imgSize']['shop_catalog'] 	= array('width'=>450, 'height'=>355);
    $avia_config['imgSize']['shop_single'] 		= array('width'=>450, 'height'=>355);

    Adjust the height and width then regenerate the thumbnails again.

    Cheers!

    Sorry but I’m really confused. Where did you view the code you quoted above? I checked Propulsion: config.php (config-woocommerce/config.php) via Appearance/Editor and the code already said:

    //product thumbnails
    $avia_config['imgSize']['shop_thumbnail'] = array(‘width’=>80, ‘height’=>80);
    $avia_config['imgSize']['shop_catalog'] = array(‘width’=>280, ‘height’=>321);
    $avia_config['imgSize']['shop_single'] = array(‘width’=>400, ‘height’=>400);
    avia_backend_add_thumbnail_size($avia_config);

    include(‘admin-options.php’);
    include(‘admin-import.php’);

    Clicking on the main image on the page http://www.beastsyndicate.com/shop/?product=test3 goes to a 600px wide image in slideshow but, as you know, the link you quoted goes to a 450×335 image – but why are you seeing links to this size of image on my website pages and where can I see the page source code that you are seeing?

    Am I missing something?

    Hey!

    It is on config.php file, note that aside from the image size, you need to consider the size of the thumbnail container which is four units. You need to change this line of code if you want a 400x400px featured image on single product pages:

    $avia_config['imgSize']['shop_single'] 		= array('width'=>450, 'height'=>355);

    To:

    $avia_config['imgSize']['shop_single'] 		= array('width'=>400, 'height'=>400);

    Regenerate the thumbnails using this plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    The lightbox image or the slideshow as you refer it will get the thumbnail size of the image that you set on Settings > Media > Large size thumbnail.

    Regards,
    Ismael

    Sorry, I’m keen to get this corrected so want to make sure we’re (literally) on the same page.

    You’re talking about changing code in Propulsion: config.php (config-woocommerce/config.php) via Appearance/Editor – right?
    When I look it already has corrected values – does it not when you look? Am I looking in the wrong file?

    I’d love to understand and be able to correct it myself, but if you prefer, could you make the changes for me so we can finish the matter? I appreciate your patience. Am I missing something?

    See private reply below for access info.

    You should be good to go now. I changed the size and regenerated your images.

    It was previously set to use a different thumb and I’ve updated our end so it will correctly point to the shop single thumb instead of the portfolio size.

    Hi Devin, I appreciate your help. It worked great until I added new images. Now the thumbnails are cropped like before – not just the new images but ALL.

    I used the Regenerate Thumbnails plug-in to regen the images but it didn’t seem to make a difference.

    Can you do something so that the cropping issue is permanently fixed – I’ll be wanting to add many more images over the coming weeks.

    Thx.

    There should be no reason it needs to be changed at this point. I changed the source file so that the size was different, regenerated the images and checked the output.

    Where is the error happening?

    #315191

    Devin, click on any of the products on this page and you’ll see the thumbnails on each specific product page are cropped/rectangular, not 400x400px

    http://www.beastsyndicate.com/shop/

    PS: I’m not sure what size the images are on the ‘shop’ page but they look square not 280×321px. That’s OK as the square images look fine, but I’m curious why they are not 280×321px if that’s how we have it in settings….

    Thx

    #315655

    Hi!

    Ok. The images on the shop page are 280x280px. You should enable Hard Crop? if you want the exact pixel size. I’m sorry but I think we missed something, the featured image on single product pages is set to “portfolio”. You need to edit functions.php, find this code:

    $avia_config['imgSize']['portfolio'] 		 	= array('width'=>450, 'height'=>335);						// images for portfolio entries (2,3,4 column)

    Replace it with this:

    $avia_config['imgSize']['portfolio'] 		 	= array('width'=>400, 'height'=>400);						// images for portfolio entries (2,3,4 column)

    This will change the single product (http://www.beastsyndicate.com/shop/?product=test4) featured image to 400x400px after you regenerate the thumbnails.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
