I’ve yet to purchase CleanCut although it’s amongst the finalists in a choice I’m about to make… What I require is to have the “Blog” load first, at the domain root as the home page.
Just need to know if it’s possible?
For sure it is :-)
Have a look at this tutorial if you want to know more: http://bloggingexperiment.com/archives/wordpress-page-as-home-page.php
Just select the same page which you’re using as your CleanCut Blog page as your static homepage.
Thanks Dude for the response. It has taken me a while to get back here… but so goes it with client work…
I’ve since purchased and installed CleanCut and applied the static home page option you suggested selecting “Blog” for the front page.
Find it here > http://djikas.com/
1 > The “Home” menu still exists up top along with the “Blog” menu. Arriving at the site lands you with the blog content, but still on the “Home” page. When you click the “Blog” menu, the system just reloads the Home page… The preferred behavior would just be for the “Blog” page to load at the root domain and have the “Home” menu disappear entirely.
2 > With the blog content now loading as the “home” page. The right sidebar information has disappeared.
They would be much appreciated.
1) Please use the menu editor to create your own menu. You’ll find it under Appearance > Menu. You can exclude and include every page/post/category/link there and name it as you like.
2) To activate the sidebar on the front page there’s a quick fix:
Open up header.php find and delete this line:
if (is_front_page()) $k_option['custom']['bodyclass'] = "fullwidth";
The sidebar.php file only loads widgets for regular pages and the code above defines the homepage as a fullwidth page so they don’t load.
