Slideshow with random order
Would it be possible to have the slideshow display the images in a random order ("shuffle") instead of sequential images?
With the current set up of the slideshow most users will always see the same 1-3 images and get bored.
With a shuffle the user would get a more interesting experience.
If yes: how to do it?
You can replace following code in includes/helper-slideshow.php:
$attachments = get_children(array('post_parent' => $attachment_holder['ID'],
'post_status' => 'inherit',
'post_type' => 'attachment',
'post_mime_type' => 'image',
'order' => 'ASC',
'orderby' => 'menu_order ID'));with:
$attachments = get_children(array('post_parent' => $attachment_holder['ID'],
'post_status' => 'inherit',
'post_type' => 'attachment',
'post_mime_type' => 'image',
'orderby' => 'rand'));This will return all image attachments in a random order. Please note that the change will affect all slideshows. There's no option to turn the "randomize" feature on or off.
