    Hi,

I’ve searched around the forum and I’ve found solutions to remove the date & comments (or “no comments” “comments off” & “comments are closed”) references from the site completely – what I’d like to do is leave those options in the blog area, but remove them from portfolio section.

Perhaps even remove that whole line (“posted in” etc) from the portfolio posts?

    Thanks!

You need to delete following code from various .php files – it depends on where you want to show comments and where not.

    <span class="comments"><?php comments_popup_link(__('No Comments','avisio'), __('1 Comment','avisio'), __('% Comments','avisio')); ?></span>

The comments are used in these files: single.php, archive.php, template_blog.php and template_portfolio.php

    Hi Dude!

    Thanks for the assist. :)

I went looking for the code you suggested, it’s not actually in template_portfolio.php – but it is in single.php & template_blog.php & archive.php (and search.php).

If I’m not mistaken, these files serve up all posts whether they are “blog” or a custom post type (ie: portfolio).

I think that what may be needed might be some sort of “if” statement – and I’m just not that technical.

    Any thoughts?

Yes sorry – you’re right. I use a plugin to achieve what you want. The advantage is that you can use as many different templates as you want in your portfolio section – so i.e. you can make a fullwidth template and a sidebar template, a template with comments and without comments, etc.

Have a look at this thread: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/portfolio-fullwidth-but-blog-with-sidebar

The plugin can be found here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-post-template/
