    Hi,

    I’d like to add a description to my images, but when I do a black band appears overlayed on the image with the description text. I would like to know how to remove the black band/box.

    Hey!

    can you link us to a page where you’d like to change this? This way we can provide specific instructions.

    Best regards,

    Chris

    Hi,

    Here is a page example: http://www.cheltenham-races.com/2012/juniorgoldcuppreprace/ note the black band over the photo, I understand this is because I filled in the ‘description’ box on the media library.

    I did this as filling the description box is the only way to get the image ‘alt’ tag working in the source code, I want the alt tag in but not the black band overlayed.

    Hope that makes sense?

    Hi, I would really like a reply to this please – been a while.

    .slideshow_caption {background-color: none; color:#000000;}

    Sets the background color (the bar) to none and sets the text color to black. You can change these values to whatever you want. You can also change the opacity of the black background from 0.0 to 1.0 (solid).

    .slideshow_caption {opacity: 0.3 !important;}

    So basically the ‘alt’ tag will work in code, but not display front end

    Hi eddygame,

    If you really want to remove both the caption and black faded background behind the caption. Kindly add this in you style.css:

    Code:
    .slideshow_caption {
    display: none!important;
    }

    Hope this helps. :)

    Best Regards,

    Ismael
