Remove Recent Pages, Recent Comments etc

Hi,

I've created a new widget area under the sidebar settings, linked it to the page, added widgets to the new area but all the default widgets such as Archives, Meta etc do not disappear?

What am I doing wrong?

Hi sirchunk,

Make sure you don't have any widgets in the widget areas for "Displayed Everywhere" or "Pages" as well.
