    hi there

    2 questions, please:

    1) i have looked at all of the other posts about this but can;t get this to work with the broadscope theme; please advise

    2) i also want to remove the date stamp under the title of a portfolio item when i place it in a right sidebar widget – i have set it to ‘show title only’, and am using the broadscope latest portfolio widget, but it’s showing the date as well

    thank you, jodi

    Hey,

    1+2) Open up custom.css located in the folder “css” and add following code:

    #date_sort, .news-time{
    display:none !important;
    }

    thanks!!! :)

    #45131

    Glad that I could help you :)

    Hi there,

    Exactly what I was looking for too!

    Is it then possible to make the portfolio list automatically display in Name order without having to click on ‘Name’?

    Many thanks,

    Steven

    Hey,

    please try following – open up includes/loop-portfolio.php and replace:

    if(isset($avia_config['new_query'])) { query_posts($avia_config['new_query']); }

    with:

    if(isset($avia_config['new_query'])) {
    $avia_config['new_query']['orderby'] = "title";
    $avia_config['new_query']['order'] = "ASC";
    query_posts($avia_config['new_query']);
    }

    Hi there,

    That’s changed the order, but seems completely random now instead of alphabetical.. ?

    #45135

    Yes – a small syntax error in my code. I corrected it :)

    #45136

    Perfect – thank you!

    And to remove the Sort by field, would it be something like the 2nd post above?…

    #js_sort_items span {

    display:none !important;

    }

    #45137

    ….ah, this works:

    #js_sort_items span {

    display:none !important;

    }

    .sort_by_val {

    display:none !important;

    }

    Hey,

    I’m glad you found a solution, however, I’m wondering how not displaying things alters the order.

    #45139

    Hi Chris,

    The Dude’s code alters the order, and then the other code hides the option to change the order (I only need to display in alphabetical order).

    #45140

    Glad that everything works now :)

    Dude,

    I used the code above:

    #date_sort, .news-time{

    display:none !important;

    }

    and it worked well to remove the date from the sidebar portfolio list.

    However, since I removed the date, the portfolio item titles aren’t vertically centered with the portfolio item image. Although it doesn’t look terrible, I wondered if it’s possible to vertically center the title?

    Edit: I used the code for the “Choices” theme

    Hi ezphilosophy,

    We’ll need to take a look at what you have now to see exactly what css will be needed to try and fix that.

    How do I upload an image/screenshot to illustrate what I’m talking about?

    #45144

    Hi ezphilosophy,

    You can use this website to upload the image then just copy the code they give to your post here.

    Thanks Mya.

    I’ve attached a screenshot to illustrate the problem.

    Hi ezphilosophy,

    You can Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

    .news-headline {
    margin-top: 8px;
    }

    Play with the pixel amount for the top margin with that css. You may have issues if any of your titles are two lines.

    I’m going to close this thread for now however as I don’t want anyone to get confused since these are changes for Choices and Broadscope which this topic is under.

    If you have any other issues, just make a new topic with your question (if the above doesn’t work for you for instance) in the Choices theme area here: http://www.kriesi.at/support/forum/choices

    Regards,

    Devin
