    Hello:

I’m trying to Edit the “Archive for […]” that displays at the top of the page when someone clicks on a category. I looked at the forum topic someone posted for the Newscast theme, but the solution referenced there wasn’t applicable to the Coherence theme.

I looked in the archive.php, loop-archive.php, and template-archives.php files for the lines of text to edit (similar to the ones mentioned in the support topic earlier). I could not find similar text.

    I would like to:

-Change the Page Title (when users click on a category)

-Change what displays in the browser/window tab (from “(…) Archives” to “Category: (…)”)

How would I go about this?

    Thanks

    Hey,

Edit framework > php > function-set-avia-frontend.php. Find the code starting on line 784:

    avia_which_archive

Can this be done in Child Theme so it does not get overwritten by future updates?

    Hi,

Yes, you can copy the whole avia_which_archive function then place it on the child theme’s function.php.

    Hello Ismael,

I went to Editor > avia_framework.php because that is the closest thing I could find to your suggestion. I couldn’t find what you referenced. Where can I find/edit the code you mentioned?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Here, just empty the texts you don’t want:

I now understand the edits to make. However, my question is, how do I find that piece of code (specifically: the function-set-avia-frontend.php file)? I have gone through the code on the Templates in the Editor tab (underneath Appearance) and I cannot find this .php file to edit it. How can I find this file to make those changes?

    Thanks

    Hi hutzhelm,

The framework files are not available from the WordPress editor. You need to either view theme via FTP or through your hosts file manager.

    Devin
