Replace Lightbox with Floatbox in the Portfolio

Hey is there a way to disable the Lightbox plugin in the portfolio? I've been using floatbox for my image/video pop-ups and I want to try and implement it with my portfolio page videos and what not. Please visit my portfolio for now to see what I'm working with: http://patflaherty.net/web/portfolio/

Right now when you click on the top left video link the video pops up with the floatbox, but it brings up the lightbox with it. Is there anyway to disable lightbox completely? Or would that be unwise?

Is it possible to add a longer line of code in the post that the portfolio uses to point to the lightbox images instead of just the video link or the image link?

Is there anyway to implement some of the elements like you have in the upscale theme for this display theme. I'm really interested in the vimeo player and the photo slideshow that you guys have here: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/upscale/portfolio/

Hey,
Kriesis themes are layed out for prettyphoto but you can use other lightboxes too. You can deactivate the lightbox in js/custom.js. Open up the file and delete/comment out:
```
// activates the lightbox page, if you are using a dark color scheme use another theme parameter
	my_lightbox("a[rel^='prettyPhoto'], a[rel^='lightbox']");
```

Thanks for your help Dude. I deleted the above block from the custom.js
Is there anyway to implement the mouse over magnify glass/video play button that came with the lightbox feature and still use a different plugin?

Yes - in this case revert the changes I posted above and delete:

jQuery($elements).prettyPhoto({
		"theme": 'light_square' /* light_rounded / dark_rounded / light_square / dark_square */
	});

Thanks for your help Dude! Hey is there anyway that I can modify the image link so that it can point to html code that I enter in a specific post in the Full Size Picture or Video for Lightbox box? I'd like the Title and the excerpt to remain the same, I'd just like to modify the image link. I thought it would be in the template_portfolio.php.

I tried removing the $link_url = get_permalink() but when I do this the image doesn't point to an external link. Any ideas?

No - Display doesn't offer an external link feature for portfolio items/thumbnails.

Hi there! I'm looking to disable the lightbox in the Velvet theme and I can't seem to find the js/custom.js file. Is the place to deactivate it in a different location for Velvet?

Open up js/avia.js and delete following code:

//activates the prettyphoto lightbox
	if(jQuery.fn.avia_activate_lightbox)
	jQuery('body').avia_activate_lightbox();

	//activates the hover effect for image links
	if(jQuery.fn.avia_activate_hover_effect)
	jQuery('#main').avia_activate_hover_effect();
