I would like to replace the slideshows offered for the frontpage (dynamic template) with SlideDeck 2 in the Abundance theme. I have the code snippet but need to know where to place it without breaking the rest of the functionality.
If I change the template from dynamic to default, I get the Hello World titled page, where I'm able to embed the SlideDeck 2 but not get any of the rest of the nice elements.
Please help.

I'd use the "page/post content" element in combination with plugins like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/shortcode-exec-php/ to embed the php code or the SlideDeck 2 shortcode itself. It's not easily possible to integrate the SlideDeck 2 slider instead of the standard slider without breaking some theme features.

I have configured the AviaCordian instead. However, I can't figure out how to get rid of the white space (background) when a slide is highlighted. (my image sizes are 410x600px. Here's the link:
