    I enjoy the template, it is very nice for what I’m doing. Two quick questions however:

    1) how can I reword the template that shows up for the password / protected pages. Instead of it saying “Protected” I’d like to change it some something like “Log-in”, etc. See link to page below for reference:

    http://livinghope.ie/?page_id=316

    2) how can I change the page ‘tags” to read their name? For example: livinghope.ie/aboutus vs. livinghope.ie/?page_id=316

    Thanks,

    Jon

    Hey,

    1.) This is a WordPress default output and not controlled by the theme. You can adjust it with a filter, add this code to functions.php immediately after include_once(KFW.’/include_framework.php’); :

    add_filter( 'the_password_form', 'custom_password_form' );
    function custom_password_form() {
    global $post;
    $label = 'pwbox-'.( empty( $post->ID ) ? rand() : $post->ID );
    $o = '<form class="protected-post-form" action="' . get_option('siteurl') . '/wp-pass.php" method="post">
    ' . __( "This post is password protected. To view it please enter your password below:" ) . '
    <label for="' . $label . '">' . __( "Password:" ) . ' </label><input name="post_password" id="' . $label . '" type="password" size="20" /><input type="submit" name="Submit" value="' . esc_attr__( "Submit" ) . '" />
    </form>
    ';
    return $o;
    }

    You can adjust the wording to suit your needs but be careful not to remove any PHP tags. If you get a blank white page there’s a mistake somewhere so my advice would be start again with the text above :)

    2.) You need to configure your Permalinks, you can find this under WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks.

    Thanks James regarding the password template page. But I’m still having a problem with permalinks, I could not figure out the custom permalinks settings, and found the wordpress tutorial very difficult (sorry, I’m new).

    I downloaded the “WP No Category Base plugin” I think you had mentioned in a previous post, but still can not figure that out:

    In the “Settings/Permalinks” area, what do I put for the following?

    Custom Structure: ?

    Category Base: ?

    Tag Base:?

    I would like the permalinks to link to page names

    thanks again-

    Hey,

    have a look at this page: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks – it describes all permalink structures :)

    Just ignore the tag base and category base – if you use the WP No Category Base plugin – the category base will be removed nevertheless.

    Sorry, I can not understand the wordpress link you sent regarding permalinks. I don’t find their instructions very helpful.

    With the WP No Category Base plugin, I just want the permalink structure to show page names (example: http://www.livinghope.ie/calender ) with a “calendar” being a page name. When I put /%pagename% in the Custom Structure input area, and ignore everything else (category base and tag base), it does not work. I have not been able to figure out anything else that works.

    Please help – I can’t figure this out from the link you sent :)

    Thanks

    Hey,

    the structure tag %pagename% doesn’t exist – use %postname% instead and you get your desired structure :)

    Following structure tags are supported:

    %year%

    The year of the post, four digits, for example 2004

    %monthnum%

    Month of the year, for example 05

    %day%

    Day of the month, for example 28

    %hour%

    Hour of the day, for example 15

    %minute%

    Minute of the hour, for example 43

    %second%

    Second of the minute, for example 33

    %post_id%

    The unique ID # of the post, for example 423

    %postname%

    A sanitized version of the title of the post (post slug field on Edit Post/Page panel).

    %category%

    A sanitized version of the category name (category slug field on New/Edit Category panel).

    %tag%

    A sanitized version of the tag name (tag slug field on New/Edit Tag panel).

    %author%

    A sanitized version of the author name.

    Hey,

    Just to add to this, your Permalink Settings page should look very similar to this: http://cl.ly/1P0K231f3R1v221n0S0q

    It’s easiest to select an option (e.g. month and name as per the screenshot) but if you need a custom structure you can make changes in the Custom Structure field. Hint: if you don’t need a Custom Structure, don’t worry about it.

    e.g. if you wanted to show mysite.com/categoryname/postname you would use this format in the Custom Structure field:

    /%category%/%postname%/
