Safari and Chrome Error on Avia Slider

Hi I have installed your slider and it works great on explorer 8 and Firefox 3.6. But although your demo page works fine in Safari 5.0.4 and Chrome 10.0.64 I can't get my files to work on these 2 browsers.

Only the first 2 images (of 10 in total) show and then the slider freezes. I have spent hours looking at it and am beginning to tear my hair out! My customer is viewing it in Safari so I have to have it working or I will need to revert to Flash which I really don't want to do.

This could be a really simple fix, you've got a self closing tag on the opening UL for the Avia Slider:

<ul class="aviaslider" id="frontpage-slider" />

It should be:

<ul class="aviaslider" id="frontpage-slider">

FireFox will ignore this but Webkit (Safari and Chrome) won't so may explain the problem. You'll also probably find that IE (older versions) doesn't work either.

Failing that, there are quite a few other JS scripts being loaded (notably MooTools which doesn't play nice with jQuery) - try disabling these at least temporarilly to see if this is the cause.
