I have a client wanting their website (built using Abundance) to scale correctly to all screen sizes. They say they view it on different screen sizes (as toggled with CTRL and -) and it displays a lot of the background and that the theme does not scale.
Please can you offer a solution / thoughts on this ASAP?

this would require a so-called "responsive design". Abundance is build on a fixed 960px grid framework and therefore it will not scale depending on the screen resolution. You need to use a responsive theme like http://themeforest.net/item/propulsion-responsive-business-ecommerce/1126092?ref=Kriesi and the theme layout will change depending on the resolution.
