In the search results, is there any way to just display all of the results as a list (like any other search engine), rather than as a one-result-per-page type format? I can't imagine why anyone would want to page through search results...

Gosh, sorry for the noise. After staring at the code in search.php for a while, I went over to the twicet sample and did a search, and there, I did get more than one search result per page.
The problem was (and I don't think I ever set this) I had "Wordpress->Settings->Reading->Blog pages to show at most" set to 1. Reset to 10, and it works just fine.
Posting here in case someone else runs into the same problem.

Gorgeous theme by the way; well worth the money.
My artwork skills need some work to catch up with the theme, but anyway:

Hi I'm getting the same problem.
No matter if i check 'Full text' or 'Summary' in the reading setting my search results display the whole pages rather than a list of page links. Is there any obvious reason for this i may be misssing.
Thanks,
Dave.

Hey!
The best solution is to use a search plugin like Relevanssi - it offers some create search page options (excerpt length, relevance, etc.)
