    Hello helpful people!

    So on my website (www.erikandersonrealestate.com), I would like to add another sidebar that’s basically identical to the first sidebar except on the right. Is this possible/relatively easy to do?

    I’ve been able to add another sidebar on all pages except the home page but it is hidden underneath the content box and won’t obey the

    Quote:
    #top .sidebar2.sidebar_absolute {

    left: 850px!important;

    }

    rule that I added into custom.css.

    Please help?

    Hi tilitran,

    Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

    #top .sidebar.sidebar2.box {
    left: 922px;
    }

    That will work on a page like http://www.erikandersonrealestate.com/meet-erik/ . If you’ve change the width of any other page different than that pages content you can make the sidebar position specific to the page by adding the page id class to the selector.

    Regards,

    Devin

    Hi Devin

    Thanks for responding. The code worked perfectly but I still can’t get the sidebar to appear on the homepage. Also, how can I format it so that it looks like the left sidebar?

    Hi,

    Your site is under maintenance mode.

    Devin’s code should move the second sidebar more to the left. Please remove browser cache then reload the page.

    Regards,

    Ismael

    Oops sorry about that! The code worked to move the second sidebar more to the right but I want it to look exactly like the left sidebar (the fonts, the styling, etc) and also I want the second sidebar to appear on the homepage as well as all the other pages.

    Hi,

    Here is the css for the page http://www.erikandersonrealestate.com/meet-erik/

    #top .sidebar2.sidebar_absolute {
    left:872px!important;
    top:-1px;
    }
    #top .logo a,#top .logo a:hover {
    top:-40px;
    left:9px;
    }
    #widget_sp_image-5 img {
    bottom:-15px;
    position:relative;
    right:-10px;
    }
    .sidebar.sidebar2.box.sidebar_absolute {
    height: 1020px;
    }

    You will not get the right sidebar to look like left the way you are going. What you gonna have to do is create a new menu , so that it is accessable from Appearance > Menus . Another option would be to hardcode the right menu, what that would mean is that you would view the source on a page and copy the code for your menu and your left sidebar, and then paste it into the Enhanced Text Widget. As long as you wont need to modify the menu options too often its a feasible solution.

    Thanks,

    Nick
