I just installed the theme and got the following error. What can I do to undo this? Thanks

    Server error

The website encountered an error while retrieving http://margarianlaw.com/. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

    Here are some suggestions:

    Reload this webpage later.

HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

    Hi nexuslab,

I just checked your site: http://margarianlaw.com/ and your page is under construction. Is the HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error) resolved now?

    Regards,

    Ismael

No, I have deactivated the plug in for the site not to give the Server Error.

The Server Error shows on Chrome browser. All other browsers just display a blank screen.

    Hi nexuslab,

You said you deactivate a plugin? Did you mean the Brightbox theme? Just want to make sure we’re on the same page. :)

How did you install the theme? Appearance > Theme > Install or did you use FTP?

    Regards,

    Mya

Yes, after installing the theme, the website would go blank. WP displays a “broken theme” message.

After activating it again, it does what you see now. (I have installed and activated the theme again.)

I have tried both FTP and through the WP admin. Both installations lead to the same problem.

    Thanks

    Hi nexuslab,

Have you tried to redownload the theme from ThemeForest? If not, do that. It’s possible the download was interrupted somehow and you have a corrupted file.

Also, check to be sure you’re using the correct Brightbox.zip? The original zip you download from ThemeForest contains a PSD folder, Documentation folder, License folder and the actual brightbox.zip. So you’ll need to extract the second brightbox.zip then upload that file to WordPress > Appearance > Themes > Install.

    Regards,

    Mya

    Hi Mya,

I have done all those :-)

Just to be sure I did that again. Same problem!

    Hi,

Okay, I’m going to tag the rest of the support team to see if they have other ideas.

Can you provide any server error logs? Error 500 (Internal Server Error) is a very general error and it doesn’t really help us. Please check if your server meets the requirements listed here: http://wordpress.org/about/requirements/ and make sure that the allocated php memory is set to a reasonable value like 128M ( http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP ).
