Hello, when we try to share a story to Facebook it doesn’t display the opening paragraph of the story in the description. Instead, it displays a block of content in our mega menu.
How can we fix this so that an excerpt of the posted article shows up in the description?

This is a problem with the Shoutbox theme right out of the box. I have tried installing several Facebook Open Graph plugins for WP but no luck.
Looking forward to some help…
I’m not very familiar with Facebook OG so I’ve marked the topic to be looked at by another support crew. No guarantee of a fix, but he may be able to provide a direction at the very least.
It is also not letting me select an image from the post. I am having the same issues.
Did you try Yoast SEO: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-seo/ – it works very well with og meta data.
This might narrow down the issue:
The bug occurs when you enable the checkmark labeled “Use the description to create a Text Block…” when creating a mega menu within Appearance > Menus in WordPress. I had a paragraph in there and it seems to complain when the
tags are inserted. I tried and it also bugs out. I just stripped out the description and it works fine now, even without the Yoast SEO plugin.
