    hi, I have a number of landing pages that have a lot of duplicate content and I’m looking for a quick way to add content to the pages. the Template builder is just taking too long.

    Is there a way I can duplicate template items? or….

    I can copy HTML or shortcodes / text quite quickly into each individual page, however I need to know the shortcode for adding a post item into a column. My current homepage http://www.philipwhiteweddings.co.uk shows the layout I need to duplicate. I just can’t work out the shortcode to have posts from particular categories displayed in my columns.

    Can you help me please…

    Phil

    Hey,

    the column shortcode looks different to the template output and takes even longer to implement (wordpress messes around with the text formatting some time, etc.). I’d suggest to create a two columns template, you can add as many column elements as you like and seperate them with hr elements, etc. (like on this page http://www.philipwhiteweddings.co.uk/ ). Another advantage is that you can apply this template to any page/post with one click.

    I need to make slight differences in the text on each page. Having a lot of trouble saving with template builder. Have emailed you I think

    Another user requested the option to display the current page content in columns too (it’s not possible at the moment). I reported the feature request to Kriesi and he’ll look into it. At the moment I can only suggest to use the page/post content element in combination with the columns element – when we release the update you can simply set one column to the “currebnt page content” and remove the post/page content element.

    This would be fine but Template builder just won’t save. I’ve tried disabling all (2) plugins and I’m on the best hosting available.

    All versions of WP and theme are up to date also. I just need to be able to duplicate the home page content across say 30 other pages with slight differences in text.

    There’s no dynamic solution for now. You can only “copy” the homepage content and create a hardcoded template code like:

    <?php
    /*
    Template Name: Custom Page
    */

    global $avia_config;

    /*
    * get_header is a basic wordpress function, used to retrieve the header.php file in your theme directory.
    */
    get_header();

    ?>

    <!-- ####### MAIN CONTAINER ####### -->
    <div class='container_wrap' id='main'>

    <div class='container'>

    and select this template for all pages you’d like to apply it to.
