Hi, I tried adding the code manually but not luck. I also turned plug-in off and no results.

    Hi

Where the “Content for 1/2 Column here” is, is where you should move your content. Shortcodes open and close, but you’ve closed yours before the content starts. Here’s an example of using shortcodes:

<- this one opens | this one closes ->

That’s the shortcode for making something bold in this forum, everything in between these will be affected. It’ll result in this :

<- this one opens | this one closes ->

But I’m sure you get the point. If you can’t see your shortcode code you can go in HTML view in your post editor.

    Cheers,

    Chris

Hi, that works for me but want to be able to use the Shortcode magicwand – this will be used by my staff to update this website. Is there a fix for it? Or is that how it works? (the code was produced the Shortcode magicwand – I just thought it would do it automatically for you?)

    Thanks

    Hi mediumstudio,

The magic wand will create the shortcode for you. You, or whomever is using the editor, will still be responsible for putting the content in between the beginning and ending tags.

So for instance, you want to create two columns using the shortcode. You click on the magic wand, then Column Layout. The pop up appears and you can choose the number of columns and each columns proportions then Insert that code for you into the visual editor. What you get is something like this:

    [one_third first]Content for 1/3 Column here[/one_third]

    [one_third]Content for 1/3 Column here[/one_third]

    [one_third]Content for 1/3 Column here[/one_third]

You would then enter the content you want in each column where it says “Content for 1/3 Column here”.

I hope that helps break it down a little bit as it can be a bit different if you are not familiar with wordpress :)

    Regards,

    Devin
