    Dear Support,
I have noticed that the following shortcodes does not fully work with default WordPress editor:
    – “Magic Wand” -> Content Elements -> Widget Area
    – “Magic Wand” -> Layout Elements -> all of them
    – “Magic Wand” -> Media Elements -> Image with Hotspots

By “not fully working” I mean that it does not create any shortcode code at all (Image with Hotspots)

    OR

it creates only the basic code AND it does NOT show the “window with shortcode properties” … therefore it is not possible to customize it. By “window with shortcode properties” I understand this for example

As I can see I am not the only one facing those difficulties

Can you fix those issues please?

    Thank you for your time.

    Best regards,
    MD

    Hi MD,

Thanks for pointing that out, I see what you mean now and will report it to Kriesi, it’s a bug on image with hotspot since it was working before, however for widget area and layout elements it how it works even the previous versions.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Dear Nikko,
Thank you for reporting that issue to kriesi developer team.

Concerning the widget area and layout elements … its behavior is not consistent with the behavior of the other shortcodes which give you “window with shortcode properties”. Is it possible to make widget area and layout elements behave like others?

    Thank you for your help.

    Best regards,
    MD

    Hi MD,

Sorry for the late response, as for the widget area and layout elements, I agree with you and you are free to request such feature at our feature request system: https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/

This system allows us to keep track of user suggestions and lets you vote on the feature you would like to see the most. I am afraid though there is no guarantee that a feature will get implemented.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Dear Nikko,
Thank you for your reply. I will create a feature request … although I think that kind of behavior is a bug.

What about the “Image with Hotspots”?

    Best regards,
    MD

P.S I know I am a pain … ;-) however from the commercial product I expect much more and what I can see after buying Enfold is that for many things there are no real fixed but workarounds all the time. Some features work only is “specific” cases (1) for others you need to do nasty hacks (2) and in some cases Enfold is breaking compatibility with important plugins (3) … that is really disappointing.

    (1) https://kriesi.at/support/topic/image-with-hotspots-does-not-work-with-default-wordpress-editor/ and this topic
    (2) https://kriesi.at/support/topic/layerslider-on-every-blog-post/
    (3) https://kriesi.at/support/topic/advance-layout-editor-is-breaking-syntax-highlight/

Of course there are also good things! Thanks to Enfold I was able to quickly build my page and after digging in into details it is very customizable tool. I am pointing that there is still room for improvement.

    Hi,

We are very sorry to hear that, and we can’t deny that there are some bugs though no systems are perfect, but we can assure you that since this has been already listed to our bug report, Kriesi and our devs are working on fixing those issues hopefully a theme update will be released soon :)

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Dear Nikko,
    Thank you for your reply.

What exactly was listed to bug report?

Do I need to submit feature requests so all the shortcodes will behave
    the same?

By the time you fix the issues I will probably lose my support period ;/

    Best regards,
    MD

    #848870

    Hi MD,

What was listed there was what the bug was and how to reproduce it. And no, you don’t need to submit it but you are free to do so.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Dear Nikko,
I did not fully understand your message. To sum up

1.) image with hot spots you consider as bug and this will be fixed some day maybe
2.) in order to have the same behavior of the short codes I need to submit the feature request?

    Am I right?

    Thank you for your help.

    Best regards,
    MD

    Hi,

We found the issue with the hotspot image. The patch is going to be included in the latest version of the theme.

    Dear Ismael,
    Thank you for the information.

    What about point nr 2?

2.) in order to have the same behavior of all the short codes do I need to submit the feature request?

I have noticed that the following shortcodes does not fully work with default WordPress editor:
    – “Magic Wand” -> Content Elements -> Widget Area
    – “Magic Wand” -> Layout Elements -> all of them

    Hi,

    – “Magic Wand” -> Content Elements -> Widget Area
    – “Magic Wand” -> Layout Elements -> all of them

That is the default behavior of the layout elements on the default editor and the widget area element doesn’t have any option by default. Please use the default editor if you want to configure the columns.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #852467

    Dear Ismael,
Do you think it would be nice that all the shortcodes behave exactly the same in the same environment (default editor for example)?

    Best regards,
    MD

    Hi,

Do you think it would be nice that all the shortcodes behave exactly the same in the same environment (default editor for example)?

Yes, that would be ideal but the default editor has limitations.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #853532

    Dear Ismael,
    Thank you for your reply.

It it was the case (limitation) also other shortcodes would NOT show “window with shortcode properties”. Some of the shortcodes can display that window and on some this is not implemented.

    Best regards,
    MD

    #853734

    Hi,

I’m sorry but I’m not sure what you meant by “window with shortcode properties”. Could you please provide a screenshot of the elements?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #853970

    Dear Ismael,
You have the detailed explanation in the first post … “window with shortcode properties” is also explained there …

    Best regards,
    MD

    #854209

    Hi,

I’m sorry but you can’t expect the same functionality in the default editor because it is “text” based. You won’t be able to re-edit the shortcodes once added. Please use the advance layout builder or hire a freelance developer to extend the capability of the shortcodes in the default editor. You can also contact our partner, Codeable.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #856238

    Dear Ismael,
I do not expect editing the short code once they are there. I think you misunderstood me, let me explain you one more time

When ADDING for the FIRST TIME the short code in the default editor some of the short code show the “property window” and some of them do NOT … why there is incoherence in behavior?

    Best regards,
    MD

    #856347

    Hi,

I do not expect editing the short code once they are there. I think you misunderstood me, let me explain you one more time

I’m just informing you of the other limitation when using default editor aside from the “property window”. Please use the advance layout builder.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
