    I am using the Incarnation theme. It looks like the default setting for this theme is to NOT show the author of each blog post. How do I make it so that each blog post has the author list somewhere at the top (under the date, etc).

    Thanks!

    Hi crosscollaboration,

    In your theme files, open includes>loop-index.php and look for:

    /*
    echo '<span class="blog-author minor-meta">'.__('by ','avia_framework');
    the_author_posts_link();
    echo '</span><span class="text-sep author-sep">/</span>';

    echo '<span class="blog-permalink minor-meta">';
    echo "<a href='".get_permalink()."'>".__('#permalink','avia_framework')."</a>";
    echo '</span>';
    */

    Replace it with:

    echo '<span class="blog-author minor-meta">'.__('by ','avia_framework');
    the_author_posts_link();
    echo '</span><span class="text-sep author-sep">/</span>';
    /*
    echo '<span class="blog-permalink minor-meta">';
    echo "<a href='".get_permalink()."'>".__('#permalink','avia_framework')."</a>";
    echo '</span>';
    */

    Regards,

    Devin

    Hey Devin,

    I think I did everything correctly and it is still not working. Below is the section that was changed. I included a little bit before and after so you can tell me if it is correct or not. Also, our website is trial.crosscollaboration.org if you need to take a look at it. Where should it place the blog post author’s name?

    $cats = get_the_category();

    if(!empty($cats))

    {

    // __(‘posted in’,’avia_framework’)

    echo ‘<span class=”blog-categories minor-meta”>’.__(‘in’,’avia_framework’).” “;

    the_category(‘, ‘);

    echo ‘ </span>';

    // echo ‘<span class=”text-sep cat-sep”>/</span>';

    }

    echo ‘<span class=”blog-author minor-meta”>’.__(‘by ‘,’avia_framework’);

    the_author_posts_link();

    echo ‘</span><span class=”text-sep author-sep”>/</span>';

    /*

    echo ‘<span class=”blog-permalink minor-meta”>';

    echo ““.__(‘#permalink’,’avia_framework’).”“;

    echo ‘</span>';

    */

    ?>

    Thanks, Nate

    Hi Nate,

    Make sure the changes have been made on your live server. The “by authorname” should appear at the bottom of the post along with the other meta data.

    I just tested it on my live install to be sure that the above code change works so I know it is correct.

    Regards,

    Devin
