Show Category Description in Portfolio

Hi,

Is there any way to show the category description in the portfolio? I am using the portfolio for products and I have a description for the category which I wish the visitor to see. I don't want to add the information on each portfolio item.

Hi DGRComms,

Not automatically no. You could create a dynamic template with the template builder for each category and then put the category description in a text field at the top and a portfolio element below.

Otherwise, you would need to create a new archive template for the portfolio post types and a function to retrieve the category description then display it. This wouldn't be something we could help you with via support however.
