I want to add a store to my site, in a sub-directory “shop.”. Can you help me add the Cart contents visual and link… on the main site using your Choices theme… the same place it is on the Replete theme, which is what I’m using for the store?… at the end of the nav row flush right?
The header area of these 2 templates are so similar, I’d like to integrate them as much as possible.

I’m sorry but that’s not possible. The main reason is that Replete & Choices won’t share the same database (including the woocommerce data) & domain and thus you can’t “transfer” or query the data from your shop page (sub-directory shop) to your main page which uses Choices. Tbh I’d just use Replete for both websites – this will make things easier and the design will be consistent.May 10, 2013 at 12:10 am #118216
but I already have a big site built with Choices, which has so many unique features. How do people do this? I see it done this way pretty often. Any ideas?

As far as I know it isn’t possible without a previously set up Multi User wordpress install. Which would allow you to do some cross linking of data between wordpress installations using different themes but even then I’m not sure you could display the cart from one setup on another page.
If you really want to keep Choices, you could hire a freelance developer to make WooCommerce work with Choices at a very basic level.

I just noticed that replete has the same AJAX portfolio, vertical tabs and content scroller as Choices! We make heavy use of these.
What if I loaded the replete template into my current Choices website? What do you think would happen? Or… try to import the database from my Choices website into a new install with replete?
Excited about the possibilities here.

You will probably lose the configuration on your Theme Options and the templates on your Template Builder.

That might not be so bad. But will all the content carry through?… shortcodes for tabs, slider, etc. I think I’m going to try it.May 11, 2013 at 7:44 pm #118221
