Is it possible to have a custom sidebar for custom page templates like there is for the regular page template (page.php). I can create it on the back end, but it does not show up, only anything set to everywhere shows up.

    Thanks for your help!

Anyone? I’m using the most current Flashlight theme by the way.

    Hi nguyen51,

I’m not sure what you mean. Are you creating a new sidebar with the themes “Sidebar” tab and then adding widgets to that newly created sidebar?

    Regards,

Devin, yes, I am creating the new sidebar for the page (custom page template) through theme’s framework. It shows up fine in the admin area and accepts widgets, but does not display on the actual site. Sidebar widgets only appear on pages using the default page template. If I use my custom page template, then the only widgets that appear are the ones marked (Display Everywhere) and not the one for the specific page associated with the custom page template

    Does that sound confusing?.
