After updating WP to 3.2.1 I had to update some js files and the stylesheet. Since updating those files my sidebar sitewide has decreased from 300 to 210. Images that I placed in widgets when I built the site are now cut off on the outside.

Can you tell me what has happened?

    Hey,

you can compare the old style.css with the new one by using tools like notepad++.

Hey thanks bro, Ive been needing that!

Do you know why the sidebar size has changed? Can you give me the code to change it back? I have overwritten my saved file.

    thanks!

You need to change your css code quite a bit. Please search for a backup or ask your hoster to send you a backup because this saves us a lot of time.

Thanks dude, I appreciate your patience. Im getting a backup from my host. Using the backup as the active file, what would I need to change to be compatible with the new changes?

Yes. The version.rtf file contains a changelog which tells you what files need to be changed/replaced. The stylesheets only need a minor update (maybe one or two entries need to be changed) and two or three php/js files need to be replaced.

    Changelog says:

    file:style.css: version number

Does this mean I need to only change the version number at the top of the stylesheet, or something more? I just want to make sure Im getting this right, I appreciate your time.

Yes – you need to adjust the version umber only (at the very top – i.e. change 1.0.0 to 1.2.1). The version number doesn’t affect you directly but helps us to help you :)

    Got it. Thanks again!

Glad that it works again :)
