If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
Is it possible to make single portfolio items to fullwidth? Like the template-switcher by editing pages. I would like to habe single portfolio items with sidebar and specific ones (in a specific category) in fullwidth without sidebar.
Please help he me how to solve it.
Yes it is possible, download this file to your theme directory, upload and you should be all set (make sure it is called single-portfolio.php). I have adjusted this file to exclude the sidebar and make the page full width.
The order in which template files are loaded is dependant on this structure: http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Hierarchy so strong>single-portfolio.php (assuming it exists) will be chosen before strong>single.php.
Thanks for your help. But this makes all portfolio-item in fullwidth. I would like only the portoflio-tems of one specific portfolio-category in fullwidth, the other portfolio-tems should have the sidebar. Can you support me to change this?
you can use the “Custom Post Template plugin” to select individual templates for your posts/portfolio entries. You can download it here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-post-template/
Then you need to follow the instructions posted here:
Thanks a lot! This is what I look for.
But something I did wrong. Now I can choose between “Standardtemplate” an “fullwidth”. But in both options the portfolio item has no sidebar. Please help me once again to finish it.
I’ve just choose a false template name. Now everything works fine! Thie is awesome!
Thanks a lot!!!
