I have 3 or 4 images that I would like to be my homepage slider. When uploading these files, I make sure they are all set to the same size but the damn thing cuts 2 of the photos off at some random height.
http://www.riotboardsports.com to see it.
Looking at the image in the slideshow now, only one of them has actually be properly cropped by the theme functions. What that means is for the main slideshow, they should be getting automatically resized to 930px wide and the height proportional to the image size at that point.
If 2 of the images that have not been resized were already on the server, that would explain why they are behaving differently (or if somehow they just didn’t get processed).
What you can do is regenerate the thumbnails for all your images using this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
See if that helps them all be consistent if the starting size is exactly the same.
I used the Regen Thumbnails tool and now all 3 images are being hacked off.
That would be the correct behavior then. You need to change the height for the featured image size in the themes functions.php file so that the images generated are taller (to whatever size you want.
You can also use this plugin to do that as well: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
