    1. Every time I upload a picture to the main slider it automatically enlarges the picture (whether I upload it large, thumbnail, medium, or original), how can I configure the slider to adjust to the size of the picture I’m uploading.

    2. Also when my home page automatically loads this blue rectangle (it looks like a placeholder) appears before it loads my picture, how can I fix the slider to load my pic on the initial page load?

    tailoredbystephenb.com is the site

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    1.) Suggested image size for the fullwidth slider is 1500x430px. You find that on functions.php

    $avia_config['imgSize']['featured'] = array('width'=>1500, 'height'=>430 ); // images for fullsize pages and fullsize slider

    2.) It will depend on the internet speed.

    I changed the size in function.php file but it continue to revert back to this super large picture. If I change the size here in the functions.php file it should adjust the picture right?

    Hi,

    As I said suggested image size for the full width slider is 1500x430px. Also, you need to change something on the css to adjust the slider size. Can you give us a screenshot or layout of the slider that you want?

    You need to regenerate the thumbnails after changing the size on functions.php. http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    http://www.kriesi.at/themes/replete/files/2011/02/blog1.jpg here is a link to almost how I would like for the pic to appear on our homepage. I like this height (because its fits on my screen without me having to scroll), but I would like it to be the width of my current pic (https://tailoredbystephenb.com/). Thanks…

    Hi,

    Your image height is just too high. Please edit the page, look for Slideshow Options > Slideshow Layout on Single Pages > Select Adjust to page layout.

    Thanks Ismael. I regenerated the thumbnail (via the suggested plugin) and changed the PHP (via the function.php file), the pic shrunk like I wanted however its not flush around the edges with the template. And the screen “jumps” around when you try to scroll to the bottom of the page. Do you have any suggestions for this?

    Thanks again!

    Hi,

    You only have two choices, a full width slider or a slider that will adjust to the page width.

    You can change the width of the slider container. Please add this on your custom.css

    .home .responsive .container .twelve.units {
    width: 1110px;
    margin-left: -30px;
    }

    Regards,

    Ismael

    Will the above CSS also solve the issue with the page jumping? It seems to only happen on smaller laptop screens…when I viewed it on my large monitor, everything was fine.

    Hi,

    To be honest I can’t see the jumping issue even when I resize the browser.

    Ismael
