I am unable to make any changes to the Optional URL area of the Slider Entry. Selecting any of the options from the drop down (link to page, link to post, link manually) does not make another drop down or text entry field appear as it should. I have the sample entries loaded and I am unable to change the “link to manually” that is set up on the last sample image (currently links to http://www.kriesi.at). If I try and change the link and publish, it reverts right back to what it was.

I have deactivated all plugins added and reinstalled the unmodified theme – all with no effect. Next step is to reinstall WordPress.

Anyone have any idea of what would be causing this?

My only lead right now is a permissions with the Theme files. We have a pretty locked down development environment. Currently I can modify the files via FTP, but I get the “You need to make this file writable before you can save your changes.” message in the WordPress editor. I am able to make all other changes to the theme setting as well as add and edit posts.

    Hey,

maybe the problem is caused by a js error in the admin backend. Try to deactivate all plugins and see if this solves the problem.

Deactivated and uninstalled all plugin’s added. Reinstalled WordPress, still having the same issue.

I deleted all test posts, all plugin’s except the default plugins that come with the WP install. Reset the database, reinstalled the theme and still I am not able use the Optional URL functionality. Could this have anything to do with file permission?

Had our admin complete wipe the WP install and start with a clean install.. Problem still exists.

Can you create me an admin account and send me the login data to: (Email address hidden if logged out) – I’ll look into it.

    Sent…

BTW, I took a look at the code on the admin page for Slider Entries. All of the HTML is showing, so as you suspect, it is probably a conflict with Javascript somewhere that is causing the code not to fire when a box is selected.

    Thanks

Yes cleancut/framework/theme_plugins/kriesi_meta_box/kriesi_custom_fields.js is missing on your slider entry editor page. Normally it should load automatically but in your case wrdpress doesn’t load it. I’m not sure if the problem is caused by a plugin, an old php version (PHP 5.2 is required ! ), the server configuration or corrupt files….
