I made the slider on globaldeafmuslims.org to 940 x 300. However, there's a dark shadow above and below the slider now. I added the following code:
#wrapper_head, #wrapper_featured_stripe{
background: #fff !important;
}
But the problem persists.

If you want to get rid of this black shadow one easy way would be to just rename this file:
http://globaldeafmuslims.org/wp-content/themes/avisio/images/skin2/bg_shadow.png
to
http://globaldeafmuslims.org/wp-content/themes/avisio/images/skin2/bg_shadow.png.bak
