    Hi,

    We just purchased this theme which is very good. However, I have chosen the accordion slider for the front page of our site. But I cannot see the slider section to add in photos and choose pages to link to in the wp-admin area, am I missing somthing?

    Also are there any shortcodes built into this theme? I asked this question on the theme forest site but did not get a response. Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Regards

    James

    Hi James,

    Take a look through the documentation that comes with the main package you get from themeforest to get a general overview of using the theme.

    The main slider doesn’t have any kind of single slideshow management. You populate it based on what you choose in Newscast Options>Mainpage Options just below where you chose the slider type. The “Featured Slider Categories” option allows you to choose the post categories that will automatically populate the slideshow with the image you set for each post. Then you choose the number of slides, autoplay, duration and speed.

    There are no shortcodes for Newscast as far as I know.

    Regards,

    Devin

    Hi Devin,

    No worries. We are mainly using this as a web site rather than a blog. Is it possible to populate the featured sliders on the front page with pages- rather than posts?

    As far as I know no, the theme only has support for them as posts (since it set up to be a news site).

    You can use posts as pages for the most part, it would just take a bit of editing to remove the post elements and make posts the same visually as a page.

    Adding this to the bottom of your style.css is a good start if you want to go down that road:

    #top.single-post .entry-head {
    display: none;
    }

    Regards,

    Devin
