My site is http://www.a1concrete-leveling.com/newsite/ and on the homepage when the page loads the black box with the verbiage loads before the image. Is this normal or happening due to a slow server loading the image? Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Hi Danielle,
The image is bigger and so it takes more time to load. Just looking at the first image (1-10.jpg) it's quite large for use as a main slider. I would recommend, if you have access to photoshop, to re-save the image using save for web. Try and get them down to 120kb if you can and you'll notice a considerable increase in how fast the page loads all together.
