I am building a custom template in Template Builder. I have created a template, created a page and assigned this template to it. Fine. I can add all of the options effectively. Except Slideshow. I do not fully understand how to create a slide show. to be shown on my selected page. I read the documentation but that section does not explain well. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You have 2 choices.
1) Display the featured images of the current page. This is the default setting - you just need to add the slideshow element to your template, then apply this template to a post/page and add featured images to this post/page. The images will be displayed in the slideshow.
2) Display a slideshow of a specific page. You need to select this option. You need to add the slideshow element to your template,and click on the arrow to expand the option fields. Select the second option from the dropdown and select any page of your choice. Then apply this template to a post/page and add featured images to the page you selected in step one.
