If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
I downgraded a client’s website to 3.3 and the slideshow and gallery still wasn’t working. The site doesn’t use W3 Total Cache and even with all plugins disabled, it still wasn’t working.
I’m in the process of re-upgrading it to 3.9 manually, as my client doesn’t want to be left without the added security and updates benefits of 3.9 anyway.
I was going to play around with installing a new slider in the development environment for the site, so upgraded that to 3.9 – and the slider and gallery both work fine – using all the same plugins and versions. I can’t found out why one is working and the other isn’t, as they’re both on the same server.
As my client, understandably, doesn’t want additional cost in setting up a new theme after purchasing this one, can you let me know how I would plug a new slider into the home page? I’ve tried commenting out the divs surrounding the slider but the rest of the page then doesn’t appear.
UPDATE: I’ve created a new template page with its own header and installed Revolution Slider, which works fine.
Do you still need help or did the Revolution Slider solve the issue for you? If you need help please post a link to the website/page and we’ll check the source code and console.
