I'd like the main slideshow to link specifically to pages, not open up in a lightbox - is this possible?

Of course, when you create your slideshow you just need to set the appropriate link for each image:

Hm, just re-checked it and it works fine for me. See latest slide of the demo: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/broadscope/
are you using the latest version of broadscope?
If not please update, there were quite a few fixes during the initial release :)
