    Hello,

The slideshow is not showing correctly since I updated to Woocommerce 2.03. It shows the first entry, but the rest are blank.

Here are the pages that it’s not working on.

    https://www.nontypicalbuck.com/product/quest-rogue/

    https://www.nontypicalbuck.com/product/quest-torrent/

    Here is an example of my product data entry;

    [slideshow 6]

[slide title=”Fluid CAM”]ALL NEW FLUID CAM New for 2012 and features on the single cam Torrent, the Fluid Cam features a rotating module that allows you to switch the draw length without a bow press with only one module.[/slide]

    Hi Kelly,

Can you try de-activating W3 Total Cache then view the product and refresh the page 3-4 times.

    Regards,

    Devin

    #111503

    Hi Devin,

I deactivated the W3 Total Cache and refreshed IE and also Google Chrome, but no change. I also went and re-updated the (2) products, but that didn’t change anything either. It used to work before the Woocommerce upgrade.

    Thank you,

    Kelly

    #111504

Could you leave Total Cache deactivated while we check it out?

    #111505

    Yes, It’s deactivated now.

    Thank you,

    #111506

I re-avtivated the W3 Total Cache plug-in. I will try and re-create a new product an see what happens. Maybe the product was changed somehow upon installing Woo2.

    I’ll keep it updated.

    Thank You,

    Kelly

    #111507

Hello,I added it to a different product and it didn’t work either. The odd thing was that as the “invisible” text was changing, so was the text box size. I guess I will wait to use this feature until a new theme update happens. Maybe someone else will have this issue and it can be added to the “bug” list.

    Thank you,

    Kelly

    #111508

My guess is there is a weird conflict with either a plugin or with the way the page is getting rendered.

I tried to re-create it on my live install but I didn’t get the same result and it worked without issue. I’ll see if anyone else has a similar issue and see if we can get it reproduced on our end before the next updates go out.

    Regards,

    Devin

    #111509

Hi Devin, I will start disabling pugins and see which one may becausing this. I’ll update the post if I can find it.

Thanks for your help as always,

    Kelly

    Hi,

Your Total Cache plugin is not doing a single thing at the moment though it is active.

    1) Your compression is not enabled

    2) Css is not minified.

    3) JS is not minified.

    4) Keep alive is not enabled

    5) No cache validator

    6) No browser Caching

    7) No vary Accept encoding in header.

    8) HTML not minified.

    Thanks,

    Nick

    #111511

    Hi Nick,

I wonder whay that is. I know that there is an update for the W3 Total Cache, but for some reason I’ve had some issues with that update.

I wonder if I should try a different caching plugin? Do you have any that you would recomend for the Replete Theme?

Thank you for letting me know this, I sure do appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Kelly

    #111512

I will try the WP Super Cache and see if that helps.

    Thanks again

    #111513

    Hello,

I have installed the WP Super Cache and still have some configuration to do for it. I did notice however that the slideshow on product pages still act the same.

    Thank you,

    Kelly

    #111514

I went back to the W3 Total Cache and installed the new version. can you tell me if these are working now?

    1) Your compression is not enabled

    2) Css is not minified.

    3) JS is not minified.

    4) Keep alive is not enabled

    5) No cache validator

    6) No browser Caching

    7) No vary Accept encoding in header.

    8) HTML not minified.

    Thank you so much!

    Hi,

Heh. Good job. Nothing left for your domain for the 8 points I listed before. You handle them all now.

http://whichloadsfaster.com/?l=www.nontypicalbuck.com/&r=www.kriesi.at/themes/replete/ click go button to run a few test against the demo and you are 3-4 times faster.

Now where is the other problem? Only image I see is of a bow on those urls. It looks fine to me.

    Thanks,

    Nick

    #111516

    Hi Nick,

If I enable W3 Total Cache, my images open up in a seperate WEB page, when disabled it works correctly. Please take a look at any of my product. I would like it to be where it does not open up a new WEB page and uses the prettyphoto option. I’m not sure if on the product page there was an option to choose how to open the images, but it’s not there now, when W3 is activated.

    The other problem is;

The slider on the page https://www.nontypicalbuck.com/product/quest-torrent/ located towards the bottom, used to work, but since installing the new Woo2 and the Replete theme, it only shows (1) text entry. I’ve tried recreating it, but no change.

You will notice on this one, that as the text changes, the height of the text box area changes.

    https://www.nontypicalbuck.com/product/quest-rogue/

Is the text white or something?

    Thank you so much,

    #111517

    Hi,

Total Cache probably did something to your css or js during minification. I think if you either turn minification off. Or have minification in stages. jquery itself you leave alone , avia i think might be put behind jquery on top, and everything else javascript) should be on bottom… CSS I would do it manually where you specify the order and also make sure that all it does is just adds all the css files one below the other, and doesnt try to do anything else like combine selectors.

On product page.. there is the add feature image on the bottom right, and no ability to set image link. Yeh I think there was something here for a slider. . . or am I confusing another theme…

Hi, I notice also with the W3TC enabled, clearing a product selection when adding a product, does not work anymore. I will disable the W3TC until I can get this figured out.

    thanks,

    Kelly

    #111519

I had to install the WP Super Cache, too many things were not working right. Ever since I went to the new version, issues were resulting. However, the slide show issue is still occuring, the first lists, but after that it does not.

    Thank you,

    Hi Kelly,

Have you tried disabling *all* active plugins except WooCommerce and viewing the product slider at that point? Also make sure that when you do, you’ve refreshed the page 3-4 times so that you aren’t viewing any local cache of the page code.

    Regards,

    Devin

    #111521

Hi Devin, I have disabled all the plugins except for the WooCommerce and cleared the temp files and refreshed pages 3 to 5 times without any change. Only the first slidewhow shows. I also tried with both IE9 and Google Chrome (cleared those temp files also), w/no changes.

It did work previous to any upgrades….

    Thank you,

    Kelly

    #111522

Unfortunately I can’t seem to replicate the issue on my end. Here is a demo using the shortcode you supplied above on a test product on my live install using the most recent versions of Replete and WooCommerce:

    Hi,

Well, you can minify js and css yourself. That is always an option. If you came this far, may as well take a few more steps. It;s not dificult, just a matter of copying and pasting the js and css files sequentially as they appear in the code into a minifier , click a button and copying the 1 file results. Then de-queueing all the css and js in the theme. The problem though is that you keep up with wordpress updates and theme updates which will create a headache since you will have to redo this manually each time any update is released for a plugin/wordpress or theme. This is a type of solution is for people who pretty much never update anything except inventory once their site is live, never plugins/theme/wordpress.

In w3tc, how did you go about javascript and css minification? Did you manually put all the files in the correct sequence as they are when you view source, making sure that the correct code remains in the header and in the footer? Here is not a bad article you can read with some setting examples http://imimpact.com/ultimate-guide-site-speed-optimization-wordpress/

Another thing to consider is to use https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/mod .. Ask your host if they have Apache mod_speed by Google installed. A few weeks ago I seen someone using it with Kriesi’s Flashlight theme with some excellent results.

    Thanks,

    Nick

    #111524

    Hi Nick,

Yes, in W3TC, I manually added the JS and CSS to the minifyer area. It wasn’t real hard, so I don’t have a problem doing this. Is there some type of plugin that will allow me to specifyt these? If so, do you have a recomendation?

    Hi Devin,

Yes, I see it’s working as it should for you. I wonder what’s causing the problem for me? Maybe I need to do a fresh install of everything? I sure wouldn’t want to do that if I don’t have to. Maybe removing the Abundance theme folder would help?

    Thank you both!

    Kelly

    #111525

Nope, no Apache mod_speed on my host’s server. Maybe I need to change hosts?

    Thank you,

    Kelly

    #111526

OK, I will see what else I can do. It’s not a real big deal since everyhing else works good.

Thank you for all your help.

    Hi,

    https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8hqGBMSfHtKZFhiU2RkcndGbGM/edit?usp=sharing

It works, but I have no idea how and I looked for 15 minutes. Not even sure what triggers it to start working because there is no difference in the code between when its working and when its not. The html generated by the shortcode on your site is completely invalid, yet it somehow works.

    <ul>
    <li>Fluid Cam</li>
    <li>Forged 6061 Aluminum Riser</li>
    <li>Durafuse Finish</li>
    <li>Adjustable String Stop</li>
    <li>M.I.M. Broadhead Shelf</li>
    <li>BCY 452X<br/>
    </div>
    </li>
    </ul>

Plan A: Can you do a backup of your site, a full one , especially database. Download and unzip the latest version of wordpress to your home computer. Export the W3TC configuration file. Then Using FTP program delete from your host: wp-admin and wp-include folders and delete all files in the root wordpress folder *except* for htaccess and wp-config.php and wp-content folder. Upload all the files that were deleted from the unziped wordpress back to the server (just make sure not to upload the wp-content folder.

Inside the wp-content folder you should have (a) themes, (b) plugins (c) uploads folders. You should delete all others. Inside the plugins folder, delete everything, and upload using ftp the latest woocommerce . Inside your theme folder you should only have replete. delete (or download first to save a copy first and then delete) anything else in the theme folder (but replete). Now I would rename replete to replete2 and upload a fresh latest replete theme in its place.

Only at that point would I try to login into the admin area and see the results. If you followed the instructions, your database would work fine, and no data would be lost, any customizations to theme files (for now) would not show , but would be in replete2 folder.

Plan B: would be to setup dev.your-domain.com , then setup a fresh replete there, then do a data export from your live site and import it into the dev.your-domain.com subdomain

But at this point I think your install is damaged and its a waste of time trying to figure out what magic is holding it together. However if you want to leave it alone for now, the choice is yours, but I would recommend in the interim to set up dev.your-domain.com anyhow.

    Thanks,

    Nick

    #111528

    Hi Nick,

I think will do your recomendation in Plan A & B. For the development domain, I will have to see if I can get that to work. I did create one a few weeks ago, before I actually installed Woo2, but I was stubling on how to log into the development domain and the install of Woo2. I was close, but gave up. I will try it again.

Thanks for all the excellent help and advice,

    You guy’s are great,

    Kelly
