not resolvedI'm trying to use the special character for heart (&hearts:) at the end of my posts. It works fine when I put in the code in the HTML tab but when I go back into the Visual editor and save the post again, the translation is lost and all I see is the code for the heart at the bottom of my post.
Is there something I need to do to make Wordpress or the Abundance theme recognize the "heart" code correctly?

I think the abundance theme and wordpress recognize the heart code correctly. You can try to use one of these codes(all of them are the same heart symbols, just different code):
&hearts:
♥:
♥:
Note: Just replace the : with ;

Hello and thank you for responding to my support request. All of the options you outlined above work as long as you never use the Visual editor. Once you use the Visual editor and update the post, all that is left is :
&hearts for &hearts
? for ♥: (colon replaced with semi-colon)
? for ♥: (colon replaced with semi-colon)
I know this works because it worked with an older site that we're converting to this theme so something's different, I just don't know how to figure out why the old site didn't mess up the heart icon in the Visual editor.
Any more ideas for me?

I'm not sure about it, as I've used the following codes and tested it using the latest wordpress version and latest version of the Abundance theme, and I've been switching from HTML to Visual editor and vice versa, and everything is good.
