If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
Hi, I recently added SSL to my site and have a few things that I’m not sure about.
1) When going to my website it displays the message “dDo you want to display only the secure items on this page”. Is this because of the security set within Internet Explorer?
2) When I go to WordPress, I get the message “Error 404 PAge not found”. It seems to want to load the website page instead of the WordPress Dashboard. Is this a setting in WordPress for the https start page?
I found the settings in WordPress for changing the WordPress URL and the Home Page URL, I changed it and tring to see if that fixes it.
No, it’s still comes up to the website with Error 404 Page Not Found. However, I can get to the dashboard from there
1) Please try to install following plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-https/ – some of your images are loaded by the http:// protocol without ssl protection and Chrome outputs a warning.
2) Try to “flush” the permalink settings. Go to Settings > Permalinks and hit the save button one or two times. Afterwards reload/refresh the option page. This will force wp to rewrite the permalink rules.
I loaded the plugin and it looks to be working great. I did however have some issues getting back into the wordpress admin panel. I’m able to get in if I modify the ulr for the page load. I think this is due to the plugin BPS Security.
“Update” I was able to remove the BPS Security plugin and start fresh with the original .htaccess file. I’m not sure if I should use the BPS security or a different one.
Thank you so much! Works great.
