It seems straightforward that I would enter the welcome text and button info right there under the slideshow options for a small 3D slideshow with static text. But it is not displaying on the page. Can someone please point me in the right direction? It's the first thing I've tried to do after purchasing this template today: http://72.32.198.216/~mblog/?page_id=29

And I made a new page and set that to be my "frontpage" through the brightbox admin-- that page also shows the image but not the static text. However, now no matter which page I try to view (including the original one I linked to in my original post) displays the "front page" rather than the one the URL specifies. Does this make sense? I just logged into FTP and set the themes folder was already 777. I changed the brightbox directory within the themes folder to 777 recursively. Hope that isn't a problem... didn't seem to help though.

1) As far as I can see you solved the problem: http://72.32.198.216/~mblog/2) If the frontpage option doesn't work for you try to set a static homepage under Settings > Reading - select "use static page" there.
