    Hi,

    I’m trying to edit a newsletter widget so the labels are behind the input fields – http://attardi.org/labels/

    I’ve nearly done it but I’m struggling to find where/how wordpress inserts the styles that are used through the back end as I need a transparent option and there isn’t one :(

    Can you point me in the right direction please?

    Cheers

    Hey sirchunk,

    Can you link to a page showing the widget and pointing out the specific bits that need to be transparent? That way we can inspect the css and hopefully provide the changes needed. The more specific the better since it sounds like you only want to effect a certain portion of your site.

    Regards,

    Devin

    Yea sure, http://tinyurl.com/acolvpo

    It’s bottom right. Still needs tiding up but just need the input on top to be transparent but can’t because it’s set in the back end of WP. This always stumps me :(

    Cheers

    The custom styles you’ve added have kind of made the input fields for this widget a bit of a mess. I’m not sure if this is what you are looking for but the following makes the first fields background transparent and fixes the odd margin:

    #footer #madmimiwidget-2 .input #signup_name2 {
    background: transparent;
    margin: 0;
    }

    This makes the second field background transparent:

    #footer #madmimiwidget-2 #signup_email2 {
    background: transparent;

    }

    Regards,

    Devin

    Glad we could help :)

    If you make any css changes always add them to the custom.css file in the css folder or to your Quick CSS. Makes keeping track of everything much easier and both are added after the other style pages so basic priority is higher.

    Regards,

    Devin
