If I choose a style in the backend style editor, it doesn’t get applied to the site. Fonts and colors are generic. Are those settings saved to the database or to a file?
They are not stored in the database, they are included in the HTML inside a style tag:
For some reason, the only way that I could correct this was to create a new child theme with a different name than the one I had been working with and then create a new styles.css for it to use. I’m guessing that something that got stored in the options table in the database got borked somehow, but I don’t really know.
