    Hi,

    I’m trying to get the Submit News form to work properly. It works fine in Firefox, but it doesn’t work in IE and Chrome.

    In IE it doesn’t show the SUBMIT button in order for people to submit the form.

    Please take a look:

    On this site the form is called “Submit a New Business Listing”.

    I’m not sure if I found the problem but IE8 developer tools show me a missing paragraph tag after the send button. Maybe this is causing your problems.

    Hi,

    I just looked at the code (shown below) it has the paragraph tag after the send button, doesn’t it?

    <p>
    <input type="hidden" id="myemail" name="myemail" value="<?php echo $email_adress_reciever; ?>" />
    <input type="hidden" id="myblogname" name="myblogname" value="<?php echo $name_of_your_site; ?>" />

    <input name="Send" type="submit" value="Send" class="button" id="send" size="16"/></p>

    Any help on this? Is anyone else having issues with the form not working in IE or Chrome?

    It isn’t working on chrome for me either, but if you expand the window then the send button is right there. Inconvenient for those who do not know.

    Actually, chrome is working for me now. But IE doesn’t display the SEND/SUBMIT button. Dude mentioned there not being a close paragraph after the Send button, but I displayed the code and I see it there.

    Hey,

    There’s no reason why the button shouldn’t show up (no CSS restrictions / coding errors).

    Which version of IE are you using? I just tested in IE8 without any problems.

    I just tested it out in IE8. The form show up, but the SEND button is missing. I can send you a screenshot if you want.

    Are you sure you saw the SEND button? If so, please fill out the form and send to me for verification.

    Hi, I have the same issue with IE, I can’t see this button even on the theme’s page in IE, chrome is fine though.

    #38005

    Now we have this issue in 2 places. Any answers? Is there an updated file we can use? Has the theme recently been updated and we can just update this file?

    Thanks!

    I’m having the same issue (www.goodnewspensacola.com). I’m also having an issue with how my ads are displaying when in IE7/8. Any thoughts?

    Hey, its just screwy CSS with IE. Seems to allocate space for successful submission message and pushes the button under it.

    If you open main style.css and change below to my numbers (already changed in the example), it’ll work.

    #newswrapper{

    width:365px;

    height:500px;

    margin:0 auto;

    }

    #newswrapper .text_input, #newswrapper .text_area{

    width:335px;

    padding:6px;

    }

    #newswrapper .text_area{

    height:80px;

    }

    Or play around if u need it cleaner. I’m also looking into why the cross at the bottom is cutting off but I may just add bottom margin in photoshop to save me time.

    Cheers.

    I investigated things a bit and another possibility is to add following style code to header.php:

    <!--[if IE]>
    <style>
    #newswrapper p{
    margin: 0px !important;
    padding: 0px !important;
    }
    </style>
    <![endif]-->

    It will only affect IE. You can insert it after following line in header.php:

    <!-- scripts -->

    I am having the same issue. Send button wont show up on any browser. I’ve added the code above to the header but still. Visitors should expand the window to be able to see it. Does anyone have solution for this?

    #38010

    Can you post a link to your website please.

    I am experiencing the same issue witht theme. I am running IE9 – and have modified the header.php file per Dude’s comment- the button shows up again, however, when I submit, the form is blank and no confirmation text appears. Any idea how this could be fixed?
