I can’t figure out how Newscast is organized. I am trying to remove everything in the header above “second” menu. Ultimately I will be using Avisio as my navigation (you can see what I’m doing at Grinparty.com — that header will be used in my network. Other sites will use Newscast, but with the same header as the main site. You can see where I’m stuck at grinparty.com/science)
I’ve bought both the WP and HTML versions of Newscast to try and figure this out myself, but no matter what I do, the gray area above the category navigation still remains :( It seems the height of that is determined by nav_wrapper, but I can’t figure out how to change the height of the gray area in nav_wrapper without messing up the cat_nav.
Does that make sense? Do you know what I’m missing?
Most everything regarding the header is housed in header.php (wp-content/themes/newscast) Does that have what you’re looking for?
Yes, I can get into the header.php and remove all the links and search bar and social networking icons. However, I can’t actually remove that space without messing up the secondary navigation. The secondary navigation seems to be linked to the top nav in the styles, but I can’t figure out how.
