    Hi,

Is there a way of creating a template through the Abundance Template Buidler for a ‘page’ and adding a new widget area for that template?

The issue I am having is that I have several articles that are written on pages not posts. The problem is that each time we publish an article it will go to a page and eventually we are looking at thousands of pages. This means we have to create a seperate template for each page and a widget area. We would liek oen tempalte working for all article pages that has its own widgets.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks

    Hi Vincent,

Not with the dynamic templates no. One option you could do, is only use Left sidebars for the normal website pages and then on the “article” pages use the Right sidebar. Then in your widgets menu add the “article” widgets to the right sidebar and the normal ones to the left. You could of course switch that around but the idea is you only use each side sidebar for the specific page types which creates a sort of consistent style for each kind of content.

The other option is to create your own page template via wordpress templates: http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Examples_of_Pages_and_Templates

    Hope that helps,

    Devin

Thanks Devin, that would work fine creating the page template which I will add it to the long list of things to do. In the meantime that is a good work around with using one specific sidebar page for articles only.

    Thanks
